Title:VV4907 High school students demonstrate invisibility trick
Date:15th January 2025
Summary:On December 12, 2023, in Shanxi, located in northern China, a video captured three high school boys performing a fascinating "invisibility trick." Two of the students held a transparent material—possibly an acrylic sheet or a specialized lens—while the third student hid behind it. As they adjusted the material, the hidden student appeared to vanish, creating a visual illusion of invisibility. This demonstration was part of an optical experiment. The effect is achieved using a cylindrical lens array, where each tiny cylindrical lens compresses the image of objects behind it into thin strips. With enough lenses, the object seemingly disintegrates into indistinguishable fragments, giving the illusion of invisibility.
