Both still live at the Wild 2 Free Kangaroo Sanctuary and practise sparring and improving their skills on each other regularly. Both heroes survived the Dec 31 2019 Black Summer Bushfires, which destroyed their home. Kanku (that’s the slightly tougher lighter coloured one), became the alpha of the ex-orphans still living here, and fiercely defended his injured and traumatised mob of survivors. Now lovingly known as King Kanku, he remains on the property today and was recently voted ‘Bacheloroo of the Year’ by his loving online supporters.''
